SMS consent and opt-in
This page documents every way a person can come to receive a text message from the TAiOA SMS Service, the exact disclosure language they see, and the exact messages the system sends. It is published for transparency and for carrier review.
Business owner, web form
Who opts in: the owner of a small business that purchases the service.
Where: theaiofficeassistant.com/trades/signup, a publicly accessible page with no login required.
What they do: the owner enters their business name, trade, business phone line, a destination for lead alerts, their carrier, and their email. To receive alerts by text message, they may actively check an optional consent box that is unchecked by default and is never pre-selected.
Consent is optional: the consent box is not required. The form submits and the purchase completes whether the box is checked or not. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing or using this service. An owner who leaves the box unchecked provides an email address as their alert destination and receives their lead alerts by email instead. No text message is ever sent to a business owner who has not checked the box.
Who fills out the form:the owner completes the form themselves on our website, or a TAiOA representative completes the same public form on the owner's behalf during a phone call. In a phone-assisted signup the representative reads the verbal consent script published below aloud, word for word, and asks the owner whether to check the box. The box is unchecked by default in both cases and is never checked without the owner's explicit spoken or clicked agreement. Both routes submit the same public form and produce the same consent record.
What they receive: a lead alert, by text or by email depending on the choice above, when a caller to their business line replies with their details. One message per lead.
Exact consent language on the form
Text message alerts (optional)
I agree to receive automated text message alerts from TAiOA at the mobile number(s) I provided above, including missed-call notifications for my business. One message per lead. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not required to purchase or use this service. If you leave this box unchecked, we will send your lead alerts by email instead. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.
Verbal script used for phone-assisted signup
When a business owner signs up during a phone call, a TAiOA representative reads the following script aloud, word for word, before checking the consent box on the public form. The box is never checked without the owner's explicit spoken agreement.
"Before I finish setting this up, I need to read you our text message consent language and get your okay.
We'll send your new-lead alerts to the number you gave me. That's one text message per lead, only when a customer replies and we have their details for you. We never send marketing or promotional texts. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.
Consent to receive these texts is not required to purchase or use the service. If you'd rather not get texts, I'll send every alert to your email instead and nothing about your service changes.
Do I have your permission to check the box and send your lead alerts by text?"
If the owner agrees, the representative checks the box on the live form at theaiofficeassistant.com/trades/signup. If the owner declines or is unsure, the box remains unchecked and lead alerts are configured to their email address instead.
Exact alert message the owner receives
NEW LEAD for [Business Name]. From: [caller number]. They said: "[the caller's own words]". Time: [time].
Caller, inbound call then text reply
Who opts in: a person who telephones a business that uses the service.
Where: entirely by phone and text. This path involves no website, no form, and no list. No message is ever sent to a number that has not first placed a call to a participating business. There are no purchased or imported lists and no proactive outreach of any kind.
What they do:the caller places a call that goes unanswered. The system sends one automated text back to the number that just called. That message carries the rate disclosure, STOP, and HELP, and asks the caller to text back. Nothing further is sent unless the caller replies by text. The caller's own text reply is the affirmative action that permits any additional messaging. A caller who does not reply receives nothing further. A caller who replies STOP, or who declines in plain language, receives nothing further.
Total volume: typically 1 to 3 messages per missed call. If the caller does not reply, only the first message is sent.
